This intelligence push comes amid renewed public comments by Trump, who emphasised Greenland’s strategic importance due to its location and natural resources. He reiterated a strong desire for the U.S. to acquire the island, even suggesting military action could be an option, despite strong opposition from Danish and Greenlandic leaders. Trump described the island as essential for U.S. international security and said its population would be “cherished” under American control.
